1. Introduction

Welcome to Wbando. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we look after your personal data when you use the Wbando mobile application (iOS/Android) and web application, and tells you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

2. The Data We Collect About You

We collect, use, store, and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:

A. Information You Provide to Us

Identity Data: When you sign in using Google Single Sign-On (SSO), we collect your basic profile information as permitted by your Google settings (typically your name, email address, and profile picture/avatar).
User Content: This includes BBL (Blackbox Logs) or other flight data files you voluntarily upload.
- Note on Encryption: BBL files uploaded to Wbando are encrypted. They are accessible only by you (the account holder). Wbando does not publicly share this data.

B. Information We Collect Automatically

Location Data (GPS): We collect precise location data (GPS coordinates) to facilitate drone utility features (such as spot finding or flight tracking).
- Consent: We will always explicitly ask for your permission before accessing your location. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Technical & Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, crash reports, your device type, IP address, and operating system version to improve app stability and fix bugs.

3. How We Use Your Personal Data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we use your personal data in the following circumstances:

4. Third-Party Services (Data Processors)

To provide the Wbando service, we use trusted third-party service providers. We have Data Processing Agreements in place with these providers to ensure they protect your data.

Google Services (USA/EU): We use Google for Authentication (SSO), Analytics, Crashlytics, Hosting, and database infrastructure.
Mapping Providers: We use Mapbox, MapLibre, and MapTiles to display maps within the application. When you load a map, your IP address and map request data may be processed by these providers to render the visual tiles.

International Transfers: Some of our external third parties (like Google and Mapbox) are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the EEA, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring standard contractual clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions are in place.

5. Data Security

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorized way.

User-uploaded flight logs (BBL files) are encrypted at rest.
Access to your account is secured via Google's authentication standards.

6. Data Retention

How long will you use my personal data? We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for.

Active Accounts: We keep your data while your account is active so you can access your history and logs.
Account Deletion: If you request to delete your account, we will delete your personal data and uploaded logs immediately, subject to a technical buffer period (up to 30 days) to clear data from backup systems.

7. Your Legal Rights (GDPR)

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. You have the right to:

Request access to your personal data (a "data subject access request").
Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you.
Request erasure of your personal data (The "Right to be Forgotten").
Object to processing of your personal data.
Request the transfer of your personal data to you or to a third party.
Withdraw consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your data (e.g., Location services).

8. Children's Privacy

Wbando does not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from anyone under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your country). If you are under the relevant age, please do not use Wbando or send any personal data to us. If we learn that we have collected personal data from a child without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

9. Liability Disclaimer

Please note that Wbando is a software utility tool. While we strive to provide accurate data, Wbando is not responsible for the actions taken by pilots while using the application. Pilots are solely responsible for adhering to local aviation regulations, flying safely, and maintaining control of their aircraft at all times.
